Budget Like a Badass: 5 Steps to Having a Budget That Actually Works

Everything you need to know to make budgeting fun & empowering!

This course is designed to help students reframe the purpose of budgeting so that it becomes a useful tool for reaching goals. We begin the course by discussing the traditional ways of thinking about budgets as well as our own experiences with budgeting. We then reframe that traditional thinking to move towards a more fun and purposeful use of the tool. Students analyze their own spending habits and their personal lifestyle goals and end the course by creating an action plan to reach those goals through budgeting. This course is especially designed for those with fluctuating income and expenses.

By the end of the course, you will know & be able to:

  • Reframe negative views on budgeting
  • Reasons to create personal budgets
  • Ways to budget (without losing your hair)
  • Use mindfulness techniques to successfully prioritize a budget
  • Create and maintain a purposeful budget

I created Verdi because I am passionate about bringing financial coaching to the incredible community of creative, value driven people I am surrounded by in my two homes: Los Angeles & New Orleans. Finance was not my first love. In fact, I was so turned off by it that I avoided the subject at all costs (pun intended) until my late twenties. I started my career as a high school social studies teacher and unintentionally fell in love with financial literacy when I was directed to teach it in one my classes. As soon as I approached finances with my teacher hat on I became less afraid of my own financial situation and was able to gain the clarity and confidence I needed to get my ducks in line.

I quickly realized that my true passion was bringing that same peace of mind and clarity that I gained as a teacher to others. I went back to grad school, studied finance, worked in the industry and founded Verdi to help you.

I am so excited you are here and I cannot wait to help guide you through your next financial journey!
